A 50 Year Warranty
Some watch manufacturers are pushing the envelope by offering fantastic warranties on new watch purchases.
12 months to 2 years was the norm, however more recently both Rolex and Omega, on their co axial movements, have been giving 5 year guarantees, whilst Jaeger-LeCoultre has gone one better by committing to an 8 year period of warranty.
Earlier this year, Zenith introduced re-edition versions of the 1969 El Primero watch, the A389 revival, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its iconic movement and model. And it comes with a 50-year warranty! a very nice gesture, and it really shows Zenith’s good intentions. If that isn't demonstrating confidence in your own product then I don't know what is.
Panerai are also offering a 50 years of warranty on the very limited production run of the PAM 700 concept watch.
It is especially important to read through the fine print of any long warranties or guarantees as some may be more all encompassing than others
